The World is Waiting for You!

The word "safari" means "journey" in Swahili, and for over 40 years, travelers have been coming to us for help in experiencing Africa, Asia and South America as they've always dreamed of doing. To take in breathtaking sights, meet people of diverse cultures, and be surrounded by spectacular natural beauty.  Where one wakes each day as eager as a child and falls asleep thinking that "this" was the best day of your life.

That's why choosing to travel with Far Corners Safaris is a wise decision. Our destinations are those we personally love and to which we return each and every year either guiding a trip or exploring ourselves. They are destinations where we have long-standing personal friendships and professional relationships. All of these connections and knowledge make a huge difference to you, and allow us to design outstanding trips that we're certain will create a lifetime of memories while exceeding your expectations.  It's what we do; it's what we've always done.

From your first call until you're safely home, we're with you, making sure all is well and that your trip is the one your dreams.

So, whether you're looking to join a scheduled small-group accompanied tour, are an independent traveler or are a group or organization, we can help you.  It would be our pleasure.

"Certainly, travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on deep and permanent, in the ideas of the living."  Miriam Beard

Help Save the African Elephant

The African elephant, the world's largest land mammal, is in great peril once again and they need your help to survive.   With the demand for ivory products in Asia high, ivory prices have soared, fueling the slaughter of between 30,000 and 35,0000 elephants for the illegal trafficking of their tusks, just in 2011 alone.  This is the highest level of elephant poaching since the global ivory ban was instituted in 1989 by CITES.

CITES, is the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, is an international agreement between governments with the aim to ensure that international trade of specimens of wild animals and plants does not threaten their survival.

Any organization which works toward protecting and saving elephants needs your support now.   Two of our favorites are based in Kenya:

  • The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust - The world's premier organization for saving orphaned elephants
  • Save the Elephants - Founded by one of the world's foremost experts on elephants

Click on the respective logo on the right-hand side of this page to link to these organizations and learn how you can help save the African elephant.
